My name is Annie. I am another little pug who was found on the side of the road after a car hit me. A good samaritan took me to a vet and somehow they located my family. I was so happy! But then they never came to get me and I was sad and in so much pain. The doctor said I had a broken pelvis but since my family wouldn't come, nothing could be done. Finally, after 10 days, a group of angels arrived. I had always heard of angels but didn’t know they were real until someone from SEPRA came to the rescue and got me out of there and to a foster home.
But now I have to have a very serious and complicated surgery to repair all my injuries. I'm only a year old, so they all tell me I should heal well and be able to run and play again, but it will take me a while to get there. Until I am healed, my foster mommy said she would carry me everywhere I need to go. I just want to be a happy little pug again. This surgery is very, very expensive but I know SEPRA has always had many angels to step forward in these times. If you can help out in any way, please do. And if you'd like to see more pictures of me, you can check out my photo album at http://community.webshots.com/user/penguinpug100 Thank you, from Annie.
UPDATE: 1/11/10
I'm home from my surgery and feeling a lot better. The doctor said the operation was called an "open reduction and plate fixation;" all I know is I was at the hospital for 5 days and 4 nights. I have a scar with staples on each back leg and they shaved me "nekkid" from my waist to my tail! (I'm so embarrassed.) I'm supposed to practice walking several times a day, but I can't run or jump yet. I heard some people talking and they said my whole hospital visit cost about $4000!!! I can't believe SEPRA paid all that money just for me. I sure appreciate it, but I'm worried that they won't have enough money left to help other little pugs who might need it. Nobody likes asking for money, but it's really for a great cause, and anything you can give will help.
Thank you and please keep me in my prayers when you go nite-nite.
Love, Annie
UPDATE 1/21/10:
I am so excited! I went back to my doctor today and he was amazed at how well I was doing considering the trauma that I had experienced. He was able to remove my staples and make me feel like a brand new girl. I don't have to worry about those itchy things ever again! As long as my x-rays look good in 8 weeks, I will be ready for my forever home! My foster mommy is already sad knowing that I will not be with her much longer but we are both excited about meeting my new parents. I know that I will have the best life ever and cannot wait for it to start. Thank you to all of my virtual fosters. This has certainly been a tough road for me and an expensive road for SEPRA. However, everyone knew after meeting me that no amount of money was too much to save my life. Please pray that my new family finds me soon!
Puggie kisses, Annie
